findingDulcinea Hosts Luncheon for New York Area Military Families on November 21 at 11:30 AM
PRESS CONFERENCE PRECEDES AT 11:00 AM
Coincides with the release of Web Guide to Supporting Our Military Family
NEW YORK, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- findingDulcinea, Librarian of the Internet, announced today that it is hosting a luncheon on November 21, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at Bobby Van's Steakhouse in New York City, to bring military families in the New York metropolitan area together during the Thanksgiving holiday.
The luncheon coincides with the release of findingDulcinea's Web Guide to Supporting Our Military Family.
A Press Conference will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Bobby Van's. Yellow Ribbon America and Wounded Warrior Project will be participating in the event, which is also supported by the Robert W. Spear Foundation.
"Americans have always eagerly supported our military family. But anyone searching online for ways to help is blitzed with a dizzying array of alternatives, some of which may not be worthy of support," said Mark E. Moran, CEO of findingDulcinea. "Through careful research and evaluation, we have identified 20 of the top organizations that support our military family, and our latest Web Guide describes them in detail."
"It is not just the soldiers that are affected when they are deployed and away from home but also the families left behind," said Brad White, National Chairman for Yellow Ribbon America.
"Wounded Warrior Project is pleased to be recognized by findingDulcinea as one of the best ways to support our military family," said Jeremy Chwat, Executive Vice President for Public Affairs for Wounded Warrior Project. "Our Web site is our most important tool for raising both funds and public awareness of the struggles of our nation's returning service members. The Internet is also instrumental in helping wounded warriors reintegrate into civilian life."
"My husband, Robert Spear was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne Unit prior to becoming a New York City firefighter. When he gave his life in service of others on September 11, America responded with overwhelming and gratifying support for the families who suffered a loss that day," said Lorraine Spear, Director of the Robert W. Spear Foundation. "It is my fervent wish that America will respond as generously to our heroic troops and their families in their time of need."
